Hellenist Paris was born from Jean-David Jacoby's deep connection to Greece and his fascination with fragrances. In 2024, he realized the idea of a Maison that unites Greek culture, art, and the art of perfumery. With artists and perfumers, he translates myths, landscapes, and memories into a contemporary olfactive language. Jacoby discovered Greece at the age of six on a family trip to Santorini. For about 15 years, he returned annually, traveling to more than 20 islands in the Dodecanese, Sporades, and Cyclades. After over 20 years in leadership positions in the international luxury and perfume industry, he founded Hellenist Paris. His memories of the Aegean form the emotional foundation of the brand.
The term Hellenist originally referred to a person who lived in the Hellenistic period and was influenced by Greek language, worldview, and way of life, without being of Greek descent. The Maison transfers this meaning to the present day. The name stands for a sensual connection to Greece that transcends origin and time. For Hellenist Paris, Greek cultural heritage is part of our collective memory. Gods, heroes, and traditional narratives shape our imagination.
