It all began with Claude Trudon , the founder and namesake of Maison Cire Trudon. He once ran a modest shop in the Rue Saint Honoré in Paris. There he sold not only groceries but also candles and spices, his real passion. As a passionate wax maker, he initially sold his candles to private customers and church communities. The founding of the family factory was the beginning of increasing fame. His son Jaques, who was also a candle maker and druggist, brought the small candle factory to the attention of the royal family. Jaques worked as a pharmacist and brandy distiller on behalf of Queen Marie-Thérèse and was a frequent guest at court.
In 1700, the Trudon family was ennobled by the king for their highly esteemed achievements, and shortly afterwards the family factory was awarded the title of the first and only royal wax factory in France . Recovered from the regional beehives of Normandy , the fine wax is cleaned and bleached in several baths before being cut into strips and dried outdoors under the sun.

Let your Cire Trudon scented candle burn until the entire wax surface is liquid .

The first third of the candle should burn for a maximum of 3 hours at a time. The remaining two-thirds of the candle should only burn for 1-2 hours at best.

Choose a location protected from air and with a flat surface.

Only straighten a displaced wick while the wax is still melted.
