But here our story intersected with that of the Capua company, which since 1880 has been one of the Italian leaders in the extraction of citrus fruit essences, and everything changed. The Capua family of entrepreneurs shares our passion for fragrance and has developed a two-step extraction method. It is one of those hidden masterpieces that pop up here and there, especially in southern Italy, and deserves attention. First, only the essential oil is extracted from the peel, browned and concentrated; then, when ripening has reached its peak, it is the turn of the whole fruits, which are first pressed and then processed in a very special extractor, the “sfumatorchio”. Finally, the essential oil is separated from the juice using a centrifuge. This is how our Arancia di Sicilia is created, the perfect idealization of a symbolic fruit that combines the sun, the colors and the scent of the island on a spring morning. So that you not only feel the gentle nature, but also all the energy that comes from the depths of the earth, the heart note impresses with musk and amber, which merges into the intense aroma of coffee absolute.
