Patchouli originally comes from the Orient and was already known in ancient times. The name comes from patchai ellai, “green leaf” and it belongs to the mint family, so the plant is a close relative of mint, sage, basil and lavender and was used by traveling salesmen to combat moths. And just like that, with the caravans, Patchouli arrived in the West. But for a long time no one thought of making a perfume out of it. It was the pacifist revolution of the 1960s that valued this substance for its anti-anxiety properties and made it an essence that promoted the achievement of new states of consciousness. We only know these stories and these journeys from memory. Spiced with a touch of nostalgia.

For our Essence de Patchouli we wanted to use only pure patchouli essential oil, harmoniously enriched with the sensuality of rose and geranium, with the elegant notes of vanilla and amber and with hints of sandalwood and guaiac wood.
