The Animalique campaign is inspired by makeup artist Kabuki Starshine. Byredo founder Ben Gorham fell in love with Richard Burbridge's iconic portrait, which he created with Kabuki and which was based on one of his clubbing personalities - an androgynous human-lizard hybrid who embodied the exuberance and extravagance of New York nightlife in its heyday in the '90s. Identity is changeable.
